You'll have to look at the stability of the company to make sure you aren't going into a company that is going down the drain. Also look for products and services that appeal to the general public to allow you to make the sale faster. Then, you should check out the compensation plan, which is how fair the income gap is between the new and old members with the distributors. After that, you might want to check out the integrity of the company, the momentum and also the timing of the company, whether or not the company is growing. Lastly, look if the company has existing training and business systems or a mentor system to guide you in times of turbulence in your business.

Next, you have to practice what they teach you. You need to be a willing listener and have a thirst for learning from the mentors. As there is an upline, there is also a downline. In network marketing, the downlines are the people below you. You should take up the responsibility of leading your downline and not let them be as they are directly after you bring them into your team. This is because the income is leveraged between the both of you and their success will very well determine yours. Hence, it's wise for you to take up the father role for your downlines, providing support and assistance where needed and it might just help you increase your leveraged income.

Like any other business, you should take care of this one as if you were running a physical store. An accountant is necessary to help you manage your cash-flow and taxes. You might also want to get a lawyer to help you with some legal issues. It's important to have these people around you, especially a support team comprising of people with experience in network marketing to help you grow your business.

Lastly, you should not get too confident and quit your day job directly after you set foot in a network marketing based business. You must not leave your current job unless your business is already earning more than your job and more time is required to be invested in order for the business to grow.
